First Sketch Idea of City Park

After narrowing down my findings in my Library Book Form Storm, I felt like creating a design incorporating my favorite selected images.
The sketch includes:
- a grid system of both paved and grass sections
- raised fountains in which individuals could also use as benches
- planters
- large fountain facing the corner of Tate and Lee Street, using the blocks idea
- concrete and grass blocks for multiple use
- children's flat fountain
- central sidewalk with a sectional raised dividing wall

My Thoughts on how to manipulate the site

The ground would be manipulated with hills of grass and soft scapes for paths and the patio area. I would also use the proposed stone retaining wall in a way that would feel as if it is sinking into the ground at the end of ramps to the entrance or patio spaces. Around the flat fountain I was going to use slightly raised stone walls that could be used for benches, or for direction. Infront of the building on the south side there would be a retaining wall which would have a built-in fountain which would give pedestrians a sense of nature walking into the building. On the retaining wall would be the school name providing the comuters with a welcoming drive onto campus.
After our class review here were a few comments:
- exagerate the fountain
- engage the people on the site
- look at the different people's point of view of the site
- look at different shadow points over the day
- look at both sides of the building when thinking of the landscape
- could bring the water inside
