My Thoughts on how to manipulate the site

Here I tried to focus on the community park which is on the corner of Tate and Lee Street. I was thinking it would be neat to incorporate water features being they are very popular in most public gathering spaces. On the east side of the building we proposed a large window over looking the park. On this window could be a large LED screen which could have any image for advertising... After doing some research I found a waterwall which would be a great feature to run down the side of the building. Pedestrians could walk under the waterfall without getting wet! The water would be captured in a way that could run under ground to a flat fountain which children could run and play onto. The flat fountain would shoot up at certain times of day, and could also have colored lights for a creative night scape.

The ground would be manipulated with hills of grass and soft scapes for paths and the patio area. I would also use the proposed stone retaining wall in a way that would feel as if it is sinking into the ground at the end of ramps to the entrance or patio spaces. Around the flat fountain I was going to use slightly raised stone walls that could be used for benches, or for direction. Infront of the building on the south side there would be a retaining wall which would have a built-in fountain which would give pedestrians a sense of nature walking into the building. On the retaining wall would be the school name providing the comuters with a welcoming drive onto campus.

After our class review here were a few comments:
- exagerate the fountain
- engage the people on the site
- look at the different people's point of view of the site
- look at different shadow points over the day
- look at both sides of the building when thinking of the landscape
- could bring the water inside

The Trip to Atlanta that never happend!!

Welcome to our adventure to South Carolina. We intended to meet our class in Atlanta but well as most know we didn't. We sat on the highway for 7 hours, just sitting there sleepy and tired. Well Kemmena, Sara and I made it home finally the next day around at 8am.

Group Form Storm Session

During our group form storm we each started a drawing and had one minute to get on paper what we felt the building should look like. We then passed each drawing and continued the process until we had 6 complete drawings of the building. We then used the drawings to narrow down what we would like to have in the final preliminary design.
